For individuals, groups, group facilitators, journal writing workshops, counselors and therapists
If you are a grief counselor, a therapist, or a writing group leader this resource may be just what you are looking for to help your clients or program participants to move through the healing process of recent loss, or to revisit old, unresolved losses.
The Written in Grief Workbook was designed for groups, but can easily be used as a tool for individual therapy. Its effectiveness is not only in the writing, but in the sharing and connecting with others.
There are two parts to the Workbook. The first part is a series of about 10 prompts that ask the group or individual to move through the grieving process by writing about the death itself, by finding words for and writing about the grief that followed, and by writing about and to the deceased. Additional exercises focus on the spiritual journey of loss and on finding meaning in the loss.
The second part of the Workbook includes a series of poems, song lyrics, and quotations that may help elicit emotions and open the door to self-expression. The Workbook may be the catalyst for more intensive journaling, for unlocking old wounds, or for initiating dialogue within families or among friends. It may be the first step or the last step in the grieving process. Each person will come to this writing process at different points in their individual grieving timeline. A Facilitator's Insert is included when multiple (2+) copies are ordered.
Individuals interested in exploring grief through personal writing may also purchase single copies of the Written in Grief Workbook.
