Reflections
Motherhood isn't just a series of contractions, it's a state of mind. From the moment we know life is inside us, we feel a responsibility to protect and defend that human being. It's a promise we can't keep. Erma Bombeck (1995)One of the hardest things about their deaths is that people don't allow you to speak of them like they do other relatives who have died. I am proud of them just like I am proud of all my children. (A mother's review of Silent Sorrow on Amazon.com)
Unfortunately, our society is so polarized on the abortion issue that it is hard for parents who make this difficult decision to find support that truly helps their grieving process and enables them to heal. The pro-choice faction tends to diminish the need to grieve following an abortion, while the [pro-life] groups seem to offer parents...judgment rather than understanding.
